Terms of Service
Effective September 18, 2026
These terms cover your use of Parental Guardians. By creating an account or paying for a subscription, you agree to them.
1. What the service is
Parental Guardians is software that helps a family coordinate care for an aging relative and flags patterns that often indicate a scam. It provides a shared care circle, tasks, check-ins, alerts, notifications, and encrypted one-to-one calling between guardians.
2. What the service is not
It is not an emergency service. The SOS button rings other guardians' devices. It does not contact emergency services, and it does not work if no guardian is reachable, if a device is offline, or if push notifications are not enabled. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
It is not medical advice. Health signals and trends are for awareness. They are not a diagnosis, not a medical device, and not a substitute for a clinician. Never change medication or treatment on the basis of something shown here.
It does not guarantee fraud will be caught. Detection is based on patterns and will both miss real scams and flag harmless activity. You remain responsible for your own and your family's financial decisions.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be 18 or older. Keep your sign-in method secure — anyone who can receive your one-time code can reach your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
4. Consent and other people's data
You may only add someone to a care circle, connect a device on their behalf, or monitor signals about them if they have agreed, or if you have the legal authority to act for them. This is the obligation that matters most in this document. Misusing the service to track an adult without their knowledge is a breach of these terms and we will close the account.
5. Recording calls
The service can record a call, encrypted on your own device. Laws on recording differ, and some places require every participant to consent. Complying is your responsibility. Recordings are stored only on your device, protected by a passphrase we do not hold; if you lose it, the recording cannot be recovered by us or by anyone.
6. Subscriptions, billing and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on the cycle shown at checkout, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change, and we will give notice before a change affects a renewal. Any trial period and its terms are stated at sign-up.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service to monitor someone without the consent described in section 4;
- attempt to reach another family's data;
- interfere with, overload or probe the service or its infrastructure;
- use it for anything unlawful, or to harass or harm anyone.
8. Availability
We do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may take the service down for maintenance. Notifications, calls and alerts depend on networks, devices and third parties we do not control, so delivery is not guaranteed. Do not rely on the service where a failure to deliver would be dangerous.
9. Your content
What you put into the service stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate it for you — to store your data, show it to the people you have added to your care circle, and process it to produce alerts, timelines and digests.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly section 4. See the Privacy Policy for how to have your data deleted.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Parental Guardians is established. The specific jurisdiction and dispute process are to be confirmed by counsel before launch.
